About Us
Blair Lampshade Studio
Blair Lampshade Studio was launched during Covid. Opening a lampshade studio had been an idea that was swirling around my head for quite some time. I took a lampshade class in my early 20’s and really fell in love with the process. My first shade was made from paper and had a cut and pierce design. I had it for quite some time until the Nantucket sunlight bleached all the color out of it. I think I would still like that pretty coral shade to this day. That was the last cut and pierce shade that I have done. I’ve branched out quite a bit to meet my clients needs and requests, but I’m still learning. As I learn more techniques, more and more opportunities become available and I am able to please more clients with the lampshade of their dreams.
I make flat fabric covered shades (wallpaper too), gathered fabric shades, box pleated shades and I am always up for trying something different. It really gets my creative mind going to see a beautiful fabric or wallpaper. I love to watch it come to life. From a roll of fabric to a gorgeous, one of a kind, custom lampshade. It’s really gratifying, start to finish! I love collaborating with my clients.
After many years of dreaming of starting a lampshade business, it actually began when my daughter, Whitney asked me if I knew anyone who made lampshades. Yes, I said, I do! And there it began and 4 years later, I still love what I do!
What can we dream up together? I would love to make a lampshade just for you!
